DAVID A. ROWE, SR.

David A. Rowe, Sr., 72, husband of the late Eva Robinson Rowe, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at MidState Medical Center.

Born in Meriden, on February 29, 1936, the son of the late David and Mary Milnarcik Rowe, he was a lifelong Meriden resident, and attended St. Rose of Lima School and Meriden High School. Mr. Rowe was President and owner of Davidson Co. of Wallingford until his death. He  was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was the owner and sponsor of many racecars at Stafford Motor Speedway.

He is survived by five sons and five daughters-in-law, Robert S. Rowe, Sr. and Christine Vogel of Berlin, Thomas and Kimberly Rowe of Middlefield, Stephen and Debra Rowe of Meriden, Timothy and Karen Rowe of Meriden, James and Jacqueline Rowe of Portland and daughter-in-law Lisa Rowe of New Jersey; 17 grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Robert Jr., William, Melissa, Megan, Justin, Benjamin, Sean, Kyle, Heather, Stephen Jr., Scott, Ashley, Adam, Abbey, Nicholas and Daniel; a great-grandson, Brett Avery; a sister Evelyn Walters of Meridian. MS, Robin, Cindy and Jennine Rowe of Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews. He was  predeceased by a son, David Rowe, Jr. and a sister Marilyn Rowe.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday May 5, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children‚s Hospital, Memorial/Honor Program, P.O.
